About this event

Calling all parents with children aged 7 to 12 years old to join us for some fun, interactive and immersive June holiday activities organised by Singapore City Gallery at The URA Centre!

Go on a journey and learn about Singapore's key planning strategies and challenges that shape our vibrant city and country through the interactive gallery exhibits! Discover how Singapore, despite its small size, tackles significant planning needs and experience firsthand how we've transformed Singapore into a remarkable city to live, work, and play.

Spot our iconic places at the Central Area Model
Be awed by the grandeur of the Central Area Model, one of the largest architectural models in the gallery showcasing an exclusive bird’s-eye view of Singapore’s Central Area. Spot our iconic places like Marina Bay, Singapore River, and our heritage districts.

Enjoy the gallery’s immersive show & exhibits on urban systems and explore how Singapore takes care of its water, energy, waste, green and transport needs, considering our limited land and resources.

Explore Singapore’s urban system through fun and engaging exhibits
Participate in a parent-child city planning quest together while exploring the Singapore City Gallery! Complete the quest and receive a unique prize.

Participants will then proceed to a 2-hour workshop session led by DesignTinkers to design and build a unique version of a Floating City model, drawing inspiration from Singapore’s Long Island project to combat rising sea levels.

Participants will be introduced to sustainable city planning principles before creating a sustainable Floating City prototype that could be the possible solution to the threat of rising sea levels for our coastal habitat and communities in Singapore. Let’s have fun exploring ideas!
