Introducing Children to Architecture Basics and Design Principles through hands-on make and build activities. The 6 weeks program will cover fundamentals of design and architecture elements relating to form, function, materials and architectural representations explored through sketching and model making. 

The 2-hour weekly classes help to reinforce creative concepts and skills learnt and to build awareness of how good designs enhance our lives in our built environment. Students will have a great time immersed in their creative making, testing and experimenting with new ideas in our weekly themed classes.

In Term 4, students will design various Objects from wearables to functional and playful ones! Student will learn the laws of Physics as they design their own Marble Run Maze structure; learn the ergonomics of a chair design as they create their own miniature prototypes; learn the essence of light and shadow through building a lamp structure; learn various architectural roof forms to translate to wearable hats and also to understand gravity and air resistance in the designing of their own Airborne Vessel. In addition, students will have the opportunity to collaborate in pairs to build a life-size chair applying the concept of modules in their design. It shall be another fun term of learning diverse topics and hands-on creative making!

DesignTinkers camps are specially curated and led by instructors who are educators, architects and designers with the passion and experience of working with young children to nurture their creative interests. Camps are held in our spacious and conducive classroom for kids to create and explore freely under guidance.

*No class on 10 Aug (SG National Day Weekend)

Second Run: 24 Aug - 28 Sep

Fee: $390 for 6 sessions

Includes all workshop materials. No additional term fee registration.

NOTE: Only one make-up session allowed per term if student is unable to attend any lessons at a last minute and with a valid reason.
